Is Your Child Struggling With…

Reading & Writing?

Studying?

Paying Attention?

Organizing?

Does he or she need to gain Academic confidence and Feel Understood while improvIng these skills?

I Can Help.

CH Learning, LLC is an educational services company committed to facilitating growth in learners seeking support in reading, writing, study skills, and organization. CH Learning employs evidence-based strategies to provide services to neurotypical, academically gifted, and struggling students.

What I Offer

An evidence-based multisensory tutoring and academic coaching approach to facilitate student growth in reading, writing, study skills, and organizational systems. Services provided include one-on-one and small group personalized instruction.

For Whom

School-aged children and teens.  Specifically, my expertise is in working with capable students whose potential is not being met due to reading, writing, or general study challenges. The approaches I employ work for students of average to above average intelligence, some of whom have learning disabilities or differences.

Why

Research has proven time and again that clear and direct multisensory instruction works. Over time with repeat multisensory practice and intervention, the language-processing brain pathways of those who have reading challenges can become more efficient. Additionally, there are benefits of multisensory instruction for most learners as multiple forms of simultaneous input engage more parts of the brain than one modality can.

A note to parents: In general, learning differences are not a reflection of intelligence, but they can cause difficulties in the classroom and hinder student performance. Having clear-cut strategies and systems in place, multisensory intervention, and an understanding of one’s own learning profile improve educational outcomes and help reduce student anxiety.

Who I Am

I’m Caitlin Forman (formerly Caitlin Hunsucker), an Orton-Gillingham trained reading and writing specialist with 11 years of teaching and tutoring experience.  I have spent the past seven years teaching students with dyslexia in small groups of two to four students and providing one-on-one tutoring for neurotypical, struggling, and gifted students as well as students with attentional challenges. I have also served in roles as Language Coach, Assistant Director, and Lecturer for teacher trainings.  You can find out more about me here.

“My daughter was fortunate enough to be under the academic care of Caitlin for two years. Those years were transformational because Caitlin teaches from a place that is centered and founded in self esteem. Caitlin authentically highlights all that IS working for your child to get them in a zone of confidence to prepare for learning. From that place my daughter was able to do things that feel like a miracle to me now when I compare it against the place we were in before. My daughter can now prepare presentations, give speeches, do homework and projects independently, stay organized, and most importantly can now advocate for herself about what she needs.”
